McHugh (Engine 22 Ladder 13), who was among the more than 2,800 brave rescue workers and civilians who perished as a result of the attacks on the World Trade Center.The generosity of the Dennis P. McHugh Foundation enabled the construction of the Library’s beautiful building overlooking Flywheel Park and the Hudson River, a symbol of the collective spirit and positive power of community strength to overcome adversity.
