This year’s theme is “The Silk Road” and will include projects inspired by the ancient network of trade routes connecting China with Central Asia, the Middle East, and Europe. Projects include Ming Dynasty vases crafted from papier mache; Chinese silks created with watercolor brush pens and embroidery; Silk Road Cities of Uzbekistan painted in brilliant Bombay India Inks; mosaic tile designs printed with foam plates; and dazzling collaged lanterns.
