Create and Sip for Adults With Alexis Starke- Ancient Egyptian Gardens and Nile River Marshlands

April 2, 2024 By Mitchell Eiss

Join us for our next Create and Sip for Adults with Alexis Starke on Thursday, April 25th, at 7:00 pm!  We will start out with an inspiring slide show of Ancient Egyptian Gardens and Nile River Marshlands in paintings, sculpture, and pottery.  We will then create our own pieces using painting and printmaking techniques- this is sure to be a fun and creative evening!

Each participant will receive a goody bag with chocolates, a mini bottle of wine, mixed media paper, a foam printmaking plate, acrylic paints, and inspiration images. This is a live virtual class and participants are welcome to ask questions, exchange ideas, and share their work. Our projects are always designed to be relaxed and beginner friendly but fun for all levels.

PLEASE NOTE: Registration for this program opens up to Piermont Residents on Monday, April 1st, at 9:00 am. Registration opens to all on Monday, April 8th at 9:00 am.

Art Show of the Month: Images by Vivian Resnick

March 30, 2024 By Mitchell Eiss

Come by the library anytime to see our Art Show of the Month- Images by Vivian Resnick.  The show will feature watercolor paintings, acrylic paintings, and drawings and will be on display throughout the month of April.

From the Artist

Creating in any form is good for the soul.  I love looking at the beauty around me and trying to depict it through drawing or painting.  I finally found the time when I retired.  There is so much beauty around us that we take for granted.  We can pass a house many times and never notice how interesting a doorway may be.  The process of creating is soothing and sometimes cathartic.  During the COVID isolation, art work was a wonderful release.  One hopes that the end result is pleasing to the artist but also to the viewer.
