About the Piermont First Friday Film Series
Programmed by Piermonter Marc Farre, the First Friday Film Series is a once-a-month celebration of extraordinary movies, shown right here in the heart of our community–the Hudson River Room of the Dennis P. McHugh Piermont Library, at 25 Flywheel Park, in Piermont. Films can be old or new, American or foreign, comedies or dramas, well-known or obscure. What they have in common is that they are wonderful and worth seeing... thought-provoking or inspiring, hilarious or deeply moving–and usually a little off the beaten path. And we'll always be especially open to movies with a local story–made by or featuring some of the great artists who live in our little corner of Rockland, or films that were actually shot here.
You probably won't be seeing blockbuster movies here–and why would you want to, with the Mall and Netflix so close at hand? The First Friday Film Series is an opportunity for our wonderful community to gather and enjoy a couple of hours of pure cinematic bliss. Come join us at 7:30 pm on the first Friday of every month. Admission is always free. All films are introduced by Marc, and there's usually a lively discussion afterward for anyone who cares to stay.
